Insane in the membrane! Well, this time it’s better said: insane in the chromatophores. In an experiment, scientists show how electricity can be used to make a squid move. They connected wires to a Longfin Inshore Squid, which produces pigmented cells called chromatophores to reflect light. When the iPod started to blast, the music caused a current to flow in the wires, exciting the squid’s tissue. In the video you can see its caudal fin, producing three colors in its process: brown, red and yellow.
