It was 20 years ago when political, economic, and social representatives from all over the world gathered in Rio de Janeiro for the UN Earth Summit. There they debated and made commitments to the environment, drafting what would later become known as the Kyoto Agreement on Climate Change. This year, on the anniversary of that gathering, a 3 day gathering in Brazil will revisit the state of the world’s environment, what progress has been made, and what work still has to be done. The gathering is known as Rio+20. This video was put together by the international youth organization, Rio+Twenties, made especially for young people who weren’t alive or were too young to remember that significant event back in 1992.
