The blobfish has good reason to look sad – scientists fear the fish is under threat due to deep-sea fishing in its south eastern Australian habitat. The bottom-dweller is often mistakenly dragged up together with crabs, lobsters and other edible sea creatures, which also live at depths of up to 800m. While the Australian waters may be its only habitat, the blobfish could be in danger of extinction.
