This surreal image shows the landscape of Ajka, Hungary, a half year after the Ajka alumina plant accident. On October 4 2010, a corner of the dam of a caustic waste reservoir collapsed, freeing approximately one million cubic metres of liquid waste and flooding the surrounding land to a height of around 2 meters. The picture was captured by Spanish photographer Palíndromo Mészáros.
