100 years ago Short-Tailed Albatrosses were almost extinct, after years of being hunted for their beautiful eggs and golden feathers. Today thanks to conservation efforts, there is now a thriving population of 2,700 albatrosses in the world, most of which live on “Bird Island” in Japan.
