For those who don’t like reading and in need of a new creative challenge, do like interdisciplinary artist Guy Laramee: transform books into pieces of art. He created stunning mountains, glacial landscapes, deep valleys and ancient structures using the edges of vintage books, such as old encyclopedias and dictionaries. His premise is that knowledge could well erode instead of build: ‘Mountains of disused knowledge return to what they really are – mountains. They erode a bit, they flatten and become fields where apparently nothing is happening’.

Among his sculptural works are two series of carved book landscapes entitled Biblios and The Great Wall. Check out his previous projects on his website.
