Besides maybe help feeding the sea lions or the elephants, the level of participation in most zoos isn’t that high. This is not the case in Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Florida, though – here visitors are invited to test their strenght against tigers in a tug-of-war match.
So how strong are these big cats? According to the book Walker’s Mammals of the World, one tiger is able to drag a massive carcass over a distance of 12 m (39 ft). When 13 men simultaneously tried to drag the same carcass later, they were unable to move it.
