Photographer Lee Jeffries started out as a sports photographer, shooting mainly soccer games in Manchester. Then, by chance, he met a homeless woman in London – a moment that would change his career (and life) for good. He now mainly captures the homeless in gripping black-and-white portraits. Over the past few years Jeffries has placed third, second and second in an annual Amateur Photographer magazine award contest, and has won separate monthly contests which come with a camera as a reward. His complete picture gallery can be viewed in his Flickr Photostream.
