Pic of the Day: Hiriko the Folding Car
January 30th, 2012 | Posted by in Pic of the dayHiriko the folding car was unveiled at the European Commission last week, which gave representatives in Brussels a chance to see what all the fuss is about. Touted as the solution for better urban mobility, the car actually folds when you park it, to almost half its original size. Several less famous groups (AFYPAIDA, DENOKINN, EPSILON EUSKADI) collaborated on this project along with MIT. Their vehicle is battery powered, which charges in 15 minutes, goes a maximum of 50km/h (31mph) and has a range of 120km (65miles).
